Reasons To Send Media Releases

There are two key reasons to send a media release. First, you can announce routine information such as a promotion or a special event. Second, you can attract the media’s attention and give them enough information about a story - results of a new study or a new product your company is introducing so that they call you for an interview. That means you are under no obligation to include all the facts of a story in your release. If the media are interested, they will call. Your job is to catch their attention.
